Falcon Foodservice Equipment
Falcon Foodservice is the UK’s leading manufacturer of professional cooking equipment; supplying operators and chefs across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
With a company history going back nearly 200 years, they supply all market sectors. Their extensive client base includes chain restaurants, breweries, hotels, hospitals, schools, prisons, the armed forces and marine installations.
A very British enterprise, Falcon began life in Scotland as the Falkirk Iron Company in 1819. Through the course of the mid 1800’s, the company began manufacturing large coal-fired cooking ranges, which lay the foundation for what was to become the company’s core business.
In 1929, they joined a number of foundries across the UK to become Allied Ironfounders Ltd, continuing to grow until 1969 when they were taken over by Glynwed Foundries, a key milestone which saw the size of the business double and gave them a firm foothold in the foodservice industry.
At the same time, the Falkirk company had the opportunity to return to trading in its own right. The decision was made to adopt the Falcon identity and logo, reflecting the company’s brand from years earlier.
It was in the 1980’s that the company really began to become a dominant force in commercial catering, introducing a range of products that included the Chieftain Heavy Duty Range and the Falcon 350 Medium duty series.
The 1990’s saw the range expanded to include the Dominator Medium Duty portfolio and the Pro-Lite light duty range.
A major development came in 2001 when the Glynwed company changed its name to what has today become a brand that is famous for quality in both the commercial and domestic world – Aga Foodservice Group.
Aga, which included Falcon, was acquired by the Ali Group SpA – one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of industrial catering equipment – in 2007.
Since that time, Falcon have continued to thrive, making significant investments in research and developing as well as green initiatives, culminating in a number of award winning product lines that are amongst the most popular in the sector.
Today, Falcon may not be based in Falkirk, but they do proudly continue to operate from Scotland, based in their Stirling site which they have occupied since 2004.
